The Santa Barbara Waterfront is comprised of an 1,100 slip harbor, Harbor Business District, Stearns Wharf, beaches, and recreation sites fronting the City of Santa Barbara. While Santa Barbara Harbor is not a typical industrial port it is home to a thriving Commercial Fishing Industry, recreational boating, Coast Guard station, and hosts up to 20 cruise ships annually.

“Since the inception of the Cruise Ship Program in Santa Barbara, the Waterfront Department and City of Santa Barbara has prioritized environmental stewardship and responsible management. Through our Local Captains Declaration process Santa Barbara has been able to require more of visiting ships with respect to sustainable practices. The City of Santa Barbara Waterfront Department is honored to be an ambassador for the Blue Whales Blue Skies vessel speed reduction program as it aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainable operations.”
