How Ambassadors Make a Difference

No mandatory slow speed regulations currently are in place on the West Coast of California.

By creating seasonal and predictable voluntary slow speed zones for shipping vessels, this program helps protect endangered whales, reduces fuel use, air and marine noise pollution, and regional greenhouse gas emissions. When shipping customers amplify and show support for these efforts, shipping companies respond, resulting in greater environmental impact.

Ambassadors make a difference by:

  • Distributing letter(s) to maritime shipping providers and freight carriers to either express appreciation for their participation, or to encourage enrollment.

  • Acknowledging your participation in your sustainability communications, website and social media.

  • Granting us use of your logo to help amplify efforts.

Email Becca@CaliforniaMSF.org  for information on how to join. There are also other ways to support the program apart from our Ambassador program, email info@bluewhalesblueskies.org.rmation.
